Time heals all wounds.
Has someone ever said that to you? Or did you hear it in a movie or on a television show? It sounds nice, doesn't it? Wise. True.
Unfortunately, it isn't true. Not all wounds heal on their own. Just as physical wounds sometimes get infected and need a strong dose of antibiotics to be rid of infection, so many of our spriitual and psychological wounds will not get better without help. Left alone, they fester and produce bitterness and anger and depression. And they will often lead to self-destructive behavior.
If this describes your situation, or that of someone you love, we can help. Every Friday evening and at other scheduled times folks just like you are finding the answers they crave and the help they need in Celebrate Recovery. Celebrate Recovery is more than a Christian 12-step program. It is a biblically-based, forward-looking program that encourages personal responsibility for our self-destructive behavior, spiritual commitment to Christ, and loving support from a community of people who have been where you are, who have faced the same obstacles that look so insurmountable to you right now.
For more information on the Celebrate Recovery program and for the meeting times of our Step Study Groups, contact us using this form or call the church office.
I have been attending Celebrate Recovery for several years now. I have found that CR is the tool by which I am able to evaluate my relationship with Christ. CR has helped me to identify the sources of my issues. One of my issues is anger. Before, I was just angry most of the time. CR has helped me to figure out why I was angry so that I can change. It has also allowed me to accept forgiveness for the harm I have done to others and to be able to extend grace to others who do not live up to my expectations.
I have been a Christian for most of my life, but I have always struggled with the application of my faith in my everyday life until working through the Celebrate Recovery program.
Until I reach Glory, I will always struggle with sin in my life, but CR has given me the tools I need to identify and overcome those sins before they become a habit.
No matter your issue, if you are stuck on what to do next, I strongly suggest trying Celebrate Recovery and see the difference God can make in your life.
A grateful believer in Jesus Christ who struggles with anger, codependency, and unrealistic expectations
