Spiritual growth is an expectation for each and every believer. A farmer plants seeds expecting that they will grow and produce fruit. The apostle Peter tells us in 2 Peter 3:18 that we are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. To bring glory to God, we must not only know Christ, we must also grow in Him. Growing in Christ is a process that begins when the seeds of the Gospel take root in our souls and extends into eternity. It is the movement from simple knowledge about Christ to desiring to become like Christ, with the result of maturing as a follower of Christ and seeing our lives transformed so that we actively do His will.
