Overview

What is Missions?

PPC considers missions as the natural outgrowth of our church ministry. The Great Commission as found in Mathew 28 directs us to take the Gospel into all the world and make disciples. This includes our own community, surrounding area, and ultimately to the remotest parts of the Earth.

What is the Mission Committee?

The mission committee is made up of elected members of PPC who are especially interested in missions. The board gives guidance to the church and developes policies in its support of individuals and organizations involved in outreach endeavors outside of our congregation.

Who do we Support?

PPC currently supports nearly 50 individuals and organizations scattered all over the world in an attempt to fulfill our part of the Great Commission. These are differentiated as Home missionaries, Foreign missionaries, and Mission Organizations. We also support numerous short term trips and projects. Members of PPC are encouraged to get involved in our missionaries’ lives on a personal basis through communication, prayer, and support. Members are also encouraged to participate in short term opportunities to gain cross cultural experiences, perspective on what God is doing in the world, and perhaps the call of God to give their lives to this ministry. Many from our own body have heard that call and are currently part of the 50 we support.

What else do we do?

The annual PPC Missions conference is a major effort to celebrate what God is doing among and through our missionaries and to accentuate awareness throughout the congregation. Many of our local and foreign partners visit during this time to communicate and share with us what God is doing. We are honored and blessed when they share that time with us. Opportunities for sharing include speaking before the congregation, cottage meetings, Sunday school visits, and one on one while visiting their displays.
