We are thrilled about what God has been doing in the lives of our teenagers. Over the past few months, our teens have been busy serving the church and the community through different outreach opportunities. Recently, a group served at the Life Enrichment Center in downtown Dayton. They spent the day helping the center clean and organize their facilities. In fact, they did such a great job that we received a letter from the directors praising them for their great attitudes and tremendous service. The teens have also been faithful in running fundraising events to prepare for their upcoming summer mission trips.
On June 15, a group of junior high students will travel to inner-city Cincinnati for a week long mission trip. Please be praying for these young students as they step outside their comfort zone to live the gospel in a new environment. Pray that God would begin planting seeds in their hearts for His kingdom and that they would start to understand the importance of caring for "the least of these."
Sixteen senior high students will depart on June 27 for an 11 day service experience in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The group has met several times over the past few months to prepare by practicing skits, studying scripture, and learning about the culture in which they will be serving. Again, pray that this trip would impact they way these students view their world. Pray the God would open their eyes to His love for the entire globe and His relentlesss pursuit of all nations, tribes, and tongues.
Lastly, we are excited to announce that the search for a full-time youth pastor is close to completion. Josh Howard has voiced his intent to accept the position of youth minister, pending the congregational vote on May 4. Please pray for Josh and his wife, Christy, as they wait for God's direction and the potential move that lies in front of them. Pray that God would give them peace as they deal with the many stresses of a major life change.
Thank you for your prayers and investment in the teenagers of our church. We are very grateful as many of you gave generously to help support the summer mission trips. Thank you for your generosity and support.
