Missions

What is Missions?

Patterson Park Church considers missions a natural outgrowth of our church ministry. The Great Commission as found in Mathew 28:19a directs us to Therefore go and make disciples of all nations. This includes our own community, surrounding area, and ultimately to the remotest parts of the Earth.

What is the Mission Committee?

The mission committee is made up of elected members of the church who have a special interest in missions. The committee provides guidance to the church and develops policies in support of individuals and organizations involved in outreach endeavors outside our congregation.

Leadership:
Joe Godwin: Pastoral Oversight
Kent Wingate: Elder Oversight
Everett Henderson: Director of Missions
Mike Bouchard: Chairman

Who do we Support?

Currently we support nearly 50 individuals and organizations scattered all over the world in an attempt to fulfill our part of the Great Commission. We also support numerous short term trips and projects. Members of our church are encouraged to get involved in our missionaries’ lives on a personal basis through communication, prayer, and support. Members are also encouraged to participate in short term opportunities to gain cross cultural experiences, perspective on what God is doing in the world, and perhaps the call of God to give their lives to this ministry. Many from our own body have heard that call and are currently part of the 50 we support.

"The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed"   Hudson Taylor
