Let’s Go Together to Fulfill the Great Commission.

I was born and lived in a Middle Eastern culture. My life was impacted by the religious conflict in my country, where prejudice, discrimination, and hatred were nurtured. I believe that the only remedy for hate is the love of Christ.

I sense God’s call to reach out to Middle Eastern communities in the diaspora, with the love of Christ. As Christ commanded, “Love your neighbor as yourself”.

In addition, God has uniquely prepared me for this role as I:
❖ Speak the same language.
❖ Was raised in the same culture.
❖ Have a degree in comparative religions.
❖ Have long experience in reaching out to them.

What can you do to help?
❖ Prayer is the best thing you can do.
❖ Sign up if you would like to receive ministry updates.

“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16

Child Evangelism Fellowship, Ministry Intern

Favorite Verse: James 1:17 – “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”

Let’s Go Together to Fulfill the Great Commission.

I have been serving in full-time ministry since February 2023. Before then, I worked with CEF as a volunteer and part-time staff since the summer of June 2019.

Since that summer, I discovered that I love children’s ministry and so I’ve stayed. I became full-time with CEF in February, because there was a job opening and because God showed me that my heart and passion is for ministry instead of nursing (which is what I was studying in college). I can look back in journals and see that God had been working in my heart towards vocational ministry for almost two years.

God has given me a passion to teach kids and He’s allowed it to come easily for me.

What is most difficult about your job?

There are many opportunities for children’s ministry in the Miami Valley, but not enough workers to take advantage of every opportunity.

Do you have a favorite story that you would like to share?

There are so many stories! My favorite stories are stories that show a child’s bold faith or eagerness to hear about Jesus. One kid from Good News Club drew me a picture that said “I love God.” Also, a girl from 5-Day Club eagerly led her little sister to the Lord during club the same week she was saved! Matthew 18:3

How can we pray for you?

  • I will be attending CEF’s 12-week diploma program in Missouri this fall; prayers for me while I’m there taking classes would be much appreciated.

  • For the chapter, please pray that the After School Good News Club ministry would continue to grow and expand to new schools.

How can we support you financially?

Daniel, Alina, Timotei and Matias Chiriluta

International Friendships (IFI) - Truman House Hosts

How can we pray for you and your work?

Pray for us to find our rhythm here in American culture, to understand how things work, for our boys to make good friends in church, for us to integrate well in church and at Sunday school and in other groups. I must manage my time well because during this period, in addition to gathering support, I have meetings with different pastors from different churches for partnerships with IFI and with different leaders of different organizations.

What do you like best about being a missionary?

I like to spend time with students, to understand their life and to discover how to help them in different ways.

Let’s Go Together to Fulfill the Great Commission

Daniel, Alina, Timotei and Matias Chiriluta moved to Ohio from Romania to work with (IFI) International Friendships, Inc. International Friendships is a community organization that works in partnership with universities and Christian volunteers to promote friendship and hospitality for international students, scholars, and their families. IFI also partners with  on-campus student organizations.

Before working as a missionary with IFI, my wife and I worked for 20+  years with Cru in Romania among students.. In 2023, the Lord called me to be a team leader here with IFI Dayton.

When did you begin your work and what lead you to this work?

During high school, I liked to go with a team to different villages to share the gospel using the Jesus movie. At the end of the meetings, I used the brochure, “The 4 Spiritual Laws.” At that time I did not know that the brochure belonged to Cru. When I got to college and had a Cru meeting and realized the brochure belonged to Cru, I was very curious to learn more about how to use it. I started going to student dormitories, talking to the students, reading the brochure and talking with them. After I graduated, I worked for 2 years as an electrical engineer, but I continued to be involved as a volunteer with Cru. After 2 years I realized that I could not share my life. I was working until 6 o’clock, after which we went to the meetings with the students. I was tired after 8 hours of work, so I began to pray to the Lord that He would guide me on what to do: to give up Cru or my job. The Lord told me only this: see where your heart is. This convinced me that the Lord wants me in the ministry.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about becoming a missionary? Do you have any words of encouragement?

Being a missionary is not easy, it is a challenge, and it is important to understand this. But the experiences in the work, the lives changed, the time spent with people, understanding people are an extraordinary encouragement. To realize that you are there on the mission field and that the Lord is using you for His glory is a great encouragement.

Andrew Huebner

Central Ohio Cru

Let’s Go Together to Fulfill the Great Commission.

I will be working with other Cru staff to minister to and reach the college student and young adult population with the Gospel. I will specifically be working on campus at Wright State and Capital University.

My primary focus will be evangelism and discipleship with college students. Most of my time will be spent meeting up with students for those purposes. My goal is to point students to Christ and to help them to grow and mature in their faith. I also specifically want to help students grow in the area of evangelism to become competent and passionate evangelists. I would also like to grow myself and get some discernment on my possible future in ministry. My vision is to see a generation of Christ-centered multiplying disciples raised up and sent from college with a personal mission to share Christ and pursue him forever.

What do you like best about being a missionary?
I love getting to spend time with students and help them to grow in their faith. I also love getting to go share the Gospel with students on campus who don’t know Jesus!

What is most difficult about your job?
Spending time with a lot of people can be hard sometimes. It can wear on you trying to keep up many relationships and point them to Christ.

Do you have a favorite verse from the Bible?

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

How can we pray for you?

  • Pray that the students I get to spend time with will truly grow in their faith and live their lives for Christ.

  • Pray that more students will hear the Gospel on campus and respond to it.

  • Pray that I will maintain a strong faith and trust the Lord for my strength and to work in people’s hearts.
