PPC’s Own Creatives

Have you seen all the resources that our staff has compiled under “Recommended Resources” tab on the PPC website? You can find out more about a source of free Christian teaching videos, as well as recommendations from our resource bookshelves, along with blogs, a collection of original music compositions, and even a theatrical production company – all produced by our own gifted PPC brothers and sisters!
RightNow Media
PPC maintains a subscription to RightNow Media, a repository of high quality Christian teaching videos. Our men’s ministry and several of our small groups have used RightNow Media for many years. There is a “Sign Up” button where you can register to gain access to the dozens of videos and series. Access to RightNow Media is free.
What’s on Our Bookshelf
Scroll down to find featured content from our two resource bookshelves, located in the hallway outside the Family Life Center. The Discipleship Resource Shelf includes books, a Bible reading plan, and our own Discipleship Toolkit. We also maintain a Family Life Resource Shelf with great resources for marriage and parenting. There is a suggested donation to defray the cost, but don’t let the cost deter you. Take and read!
PPC Connections
One of the most beautiful phrases in the Bible is from Peter’s first epistle: “good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10), a vivid picture of the way God pours His grace into our lives by means of gifted brothers and sisters in Christ who use their gifts to serve God’s people. PPC is blessed with an abundance of gifted people who use their gifts each week to serve. But several of our people are also producing blogs, books, podcasts, and musical features.
Scroll down the Resources page to find “Cedarville Stories,” produced by Mark Weinstein, a podcast that has featured several of our own people. There are ten links to interviews that Mark has conducted with some of our people, including one of our elders, Michael McKay, another interview with Dr. McKay and his wife Lee-Ann, who heads up our Women’s and Outreach ministries; Dan Sterkenburg, who serves on the finance committee; another of our elders, Walt Price; Thaddeus Krueger, one of our young adults; our former missions committee chairman, Phil Black, with his wife Pam; and our own Nick Boucher.
Scroll right to find a page dedicated to the work of Jan Loyd, one of our women whose book Glory in Disguise is on our Discipleship Resource Shelf. Jan has a blog, “A Branch in the Vine,” where you can find many of her pieces. Jan has also recently written another book, The With-ness of God, which has been used in our Women’s Bible Studies.
Scroll again to the right and you’ll find a page dedicated to the work of one of our missionaries, Vivian Hyatt, also a gifted writer. She says of her work, “I write for women, as I am one. There are all kinds of women, each of us unique, but we share certain ways of looking at life in all its perplexity. I guess I would say I know us best, but then, we are each—still—a mystery. I love the mystery.” Her blog is titled “My Reflections.”
Scroll again to the right to find a page dedicated to the work of Amy Mantravadi, whose work includes a blog, a podcast, and several novels. We recently interviewed Amy about her new book Broken Bonds, a piece of historical fiction set in the doctrine wars of the Reformation. Broken Bonds examines the interior lives and conflicts between three key figures in those days: Martin Luther, Desiderius Erasmus, and Philipp Melanchthon. That podcast is slated to be released in August.
Keep scrolling right for two more of our PPC creatives. Jason McClurg might be a familiar face as he has often been part of the worship team leading us on Sunday mornings. Jason has written, performed, and recorded several songs, posted on his YouTube channel. Jason uses music to “think out loud” about his faith. If you listen to our podcast, Jason’s name might be familiar. Jason also wrote, performed, and recorded the music we use in the introduction.
Nathan Price has created a theater company for people who love musical theater: “Alternate Theatrical Productions,” says Nathan, “is theatre for everyday creators: the passion and artistry of the 9-5 worker.”
Nathan has now written and produced two original stage musicals. The next one is scheduled for July of this year.
Check out the Resources tab on our website to learn more about the amazing work our people are producing!
