The Current Years

2011-Present

The History of Patterson Park Church

Patterson Park Church has come a long way since that first meeting in the Ashworth home. We’ve seen droughts, and we’ve seen storms, but God has been faithful to preserve our fellowship far beyond our deserving. We know that we live in perilous times. But we also know that we serve a God who is wise and good and powerful, and His is altogether trustworthy.

So we look to the future with confidence, but not because of our own wisdom and resources; our confidence lies in the promises of our faithful God, who has so often demonstrated His wisdom, power, and love in watching over His own. Only He knows what the coming years will bring in challenges and opportunities for our fellowship. We know only that all our trust is in the One who has called us. As we lean into Him, He will equip us and each step into a future that only He knows.
To our ever-faithful God be the glory.

Facility Highlights

These years have been a season of growth and opportunity for Patterson Park Church. During this time, we built what is now our Worship Center. A space designed to welcome our growing family and to make it easy for friends and neighbors to join us in worship. We also recently expanded our parking lot and continue to prayerfully think through the next steps for PPC, seeking ways to glorify God and serve our community well.

Outreach Ministries

In this era, God has guided Patterson Park Church to start many new outreach ministries that continue to flourish today. Each ministry shares the love of Christ in practical, meaningful ways, reaching our community and bringing the hope of the Gospel beyond our walls.

2011 ~ Special Connections Ministry
Began in 2011 with 3 participants, our Sunday school classes are specially designed for the 15+ students K-6th Grade, and 20 teens and adults.

Wednesday nights up to 30 teens and adults attend Faith-based social skills class and our inclusive AWANA program serves many children Pre-K-6th grade with Individualized Support Plans as needed.

A mighty crew of volunteers make this all possible and provide respite for parents and caregivers to attend services.
2014 ~ Jail Visitation Ministry
A core group of volunteers have visited men and women in in the local jail system faithfully on Tuesday evening or Sunday morning.  They spend time in singing, Bible study & prayer.
2017 ~ Hands Against Hunger
A Child’s Hope International provides high protein, nutrient-rich meals for orphans and vulnerable children around the world.

Volunteers pack, seal, and box these meals into Hope Boxes that are delivered to impoverished areas to help children recover from malnutrition and to combat starvation.

The first year saw us make over 150,000 meals, growing to 175,000 in 2019 and 200,000 in 2024.  We intend to have a packing party onsite every 3 years into the future to bless those around the world.
2022 ~ Care Portal
CarePortal connects local children and families in crisis with churches and community members.

We have responded to 119 requests, serving approximately 274 children.  Our economic impact is estimated at $240,109 with multiple families visiting our church after we provided aid.
2022 ~ Isaiah 117 House
As they prepare to build a facility in Dayton to provide physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting foster care placement, we have supported this program with diaper drives, hosting lemonade fundraisers and awareness meetings, and creating care packages for area Children’s Services workers.
2022 ~ Community Fall Festival
35 themed and decorated tables, face-painting, games, popcorn, tons of candy and 550+ hot dogs service in 2025!
2023 ~ Sleep in Heavenly Peace
SHP is a ministry that is dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering beds to children in need. Their motto is “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town”.

Our 3rd annual bed build to date have manufactured 170+ beds and raised $40,000 toward the materials. The corresponding collection drives resulted in truck beds full of new bedding.

Milestones

In this season, God led us to expand how we share His Word and worship with others. We began livestreaming our services in 2016, learning the ins and outs of cameras, sound, and production as we went.

It was a time of growth and discovery, trusting God to guide us in using these tools to reach people near and far. By the time the COVID-19 pandemic came, we were prepared to continue worshiping together online, keeping our church family connected and lifting our praises to God even when we couldn’t gather in person.

Our 2025 YTD stats testify to its importance with 7,353 unique viewers and 12,809 total plays.

Mission Trips

During this era, God opened doors for Patterson Park Church to serve and share the Gospel both near and far.

Our church family has had the privilege of sending teams to Albania, Mexico with Back2Back Ministries, Colombia, Ghana, Memphis, Utah, Trinidad, and Serbia. Each trip has strengthened partnerships, encouraged local believers, and given us opportunities to see God’s heart for the nations firsthand.

Through these experiences, our faith has grown, our vision has expanded, and our love for God’s global mission continues to deepen.

Staff Transitions

During these years, God has blessed Patterson Park Church with a staff that serves with heart, faithfulness, and unity. While some roles have changed, the love and commitment of our team have remained constant. Many staff members have walked alongside one another for years, building strong relationships and a shared vision for ministry. Their faithful service has strengthened our church family and helped us continue glorifying God in all we do.
